Kathy Zabkiewicz - 4th Vice President
​Standing Committee Membership Chair

The Fourth Vice-President shall serve as the Chairperson of the Membership Committee.  In the absence of the President and the aforementioned officers, the Fourth Vice-President shall perform the duties of the President.

Kathy grew up in Houston, the oldest of 8 children.  At Texas Tech she earned her BFA in Interior Design. She worked in outside sales for a floor covering distributor and also worked buying and selling oil field fittings and pipe. After a number of years, she went to graduate school at U of H and earned her Teaching Certificate. She taught in Alief ISD and in Fort Bend ISD and in 2013 was awarded the Teacher of the Year at her school. Her husband, Mike (Navy), daughter Mary (Navy), and son Tony (Marines) are all veterans of the armed forces. Over the years she has loved camping and traveling with family and friends.  Ten years ago, Kathy and Mike bought a century old house in Galveston and spent several years doing restoration. This year they sold it to one of her sisters and she now has a place in Galveston that looks over a beautiful cove.  She spends a lot of time exploring and having fun on the island with family and friends. She has been a member of the Garden Club for 7 years and likes contributing in various ways, learning new things, and enjoying the company of other club members.
