Scholarships
The Meadows Home & Garden Club has been presenting scholarships for residents of the City of Meadows Place since 1995. For 2023, we were able to provide three scholarships thanks in part to our membership fees and to the support from the community for our fund-raising activities. Part of the application includes an essay. This year we asked applicants to explain how the City’s motto “Your Place for Life” was true for them. “How has living in Meadows Place contributed to your well-being, happiness, and personal development.” Excerpts from their wining essays are included with their pictures.

I moved to Meadows Place with my family in my third grade year. It was scary. What would the new school be like? Will I still be able to talk to my old friends? What about my classmates, my new teachers? Would they even like me? Yet through school clubs and activities and City events in the park, i was able to talk to others around my community made me feel more comfortable in my own shoes. I held onto the determination to push through by taking on the positions of Student Council Executive Secretary and Meadows Place Youth Action Council Secretary. This year I earned the position of Student Council President. The start of my journey began with moving to this town.
