Joe DeBruyn - President 2018-2019
The President shall preside at all meetings, appoint committee chairpersons, appoint all committees not otherwise provided for and perform other duties pertaining to the office. The President shall be the ex-officio member of all committees except for the Nominating Committee.
Joe bought his first home in the Meadows in 1996, the same one he lives in today. His appreciation for community and participation began early when he had the opportunity one year later in 1997 to cast a ballot to rename the city “Meadows Place”.
Joe was introduced to the Home and Garden Club where he helped assemble the 4th of July floats for a couple years. He joined the club after he saw he could help raise money for deserving students in Meadows Place. Joe served as Ways and Means Chair for many years, organizing the always-popular Fall Craft Fair and Market. Joe retired in 2016 from a 32-year career serving the citizens of Harris County. As a Court Coordinator, he oversaw and planned the most severe criminal cases in a State District Court. Following his career, he still helps with volunteer projects, and has completely remodeled his home. Joe was elected President of the Meadows Home and Garden Club in May, 2018. |
