Standing Committees

Civic Development Committee
The Civic Development Committee shall be responsible for coordinating Yard of the Month judging and reporting results to the Publicity Chairperson.

Beverly Martin has been the Chairperson of the Civic Development for the past several years. She and her husband, Larry, have lived in Meadows Place for 28 years. Together they have three children.  She retired from Glaxo Smith Kline after 28 years as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative.  Currently she works part time for The Hershey Company.  Larry has a Bar B Q catering business and they keep busy with cook-offs and RV traveling. The community National Night Out event has been at their corner house for 15 years.  She had served as Publicity Chairman for 8 years and has organized the Fourth of July Parades for the Home and Garden Club

Horticulture Committee

The Horticulture Committee shall familiarize the members with general gardening ideas.

Kathy Gilmore has been the Chairperson of the Horticulture Committee for several years.  She is a Master Gardener for Ft. Bend County and maintains the "Garden" page on this website, providing bi-monthly gardening tips.  She and her husband, Dan,are longtime residents of Meadows Place.
Program Committee
The Program Committee arranges fro presentations at the monthly meetings on topics dealing with gardening,home improvement,and conservation.

Membership Committee

The membership Committee solicits new members and introduces prospective members to the Club.  It greets members at Club functions and presents them with their membership badges.  It maintains a sign-in register for members and guests at Club functions.  It provides cards and/or flowers to ill members.

Betty Landers, as the 4th Vice-President, is ex officio Chairperson of this committee.  
Publicity Committee
The Publicity Committee shall have charge of all publicity of the Club to newspapers, announcements at other meetings, posters for events, etc.

Clyde Little is the Chairperson for this committee.  Prior to Meadows Place becoming a city, Clyde served as a board member for the Meadows Community Improvement Association as V.P. Legal. He also served 7 years (1989-1996) as City Councilman and since as a member of the Board of Adjustment and Economic Development Council. He and his family moved to Meadows Place in 1974.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee shall be responsible for raising scholarship funds and disbursement of the scholarship funds as determined by the Club’s Scholarship Funds guidelines.

Kay Ewing and her husband, Larry, have been Meadows Place residents since 1977, when they moved here from  Orlando, Florida, with their six children and a menagerie of animals.
Kay taught preschool at Tisdale Private School in Missouri City, and retired from FBISD after serving 19 years at Sugar Mill Elementary School as teacher’s aide in Special Education.
She served 2 years (2009-2010 and 2010-2011)  as President of the Meadows Home and Garden Club and as a member of the Scholarship Committee.Her interests are reading, crafting, gardening, and getting together with family and friends.
Social Committee
The Social Committee shall be responsible for arranging all social activities.

Barbara Smith, the Social Committee Chairperson, has lived in Meadows Place for over 30 years.  She has been a registered nurse for 55 years and worked at Memorial Hermann Southwest for 31 years.  Currently, she volunteers at Memorial Hermann and is on the Board of the Auxiliary.   Barbara loves to play card games, garden, read, and, of course, shop.  She has one son and three grandchildren which she enjoys very much  She is active in the All Saints Lutheran Church.

​​Marie Niccolai & Beverly McMinn, as  3rd Vice-Presidents, are the ex-officio Chairpersons of this committee.
Website Committee
​
The Website Committee will maintain and update the Club's website, providing the Club with monthly reports of the activity on the website.

Yearbook Committee
The Yearbook Committee shall be responsible for compiling the Club's Yearbook and arranging for printed versions as needed.

Stacie Kopczynski, as 2nd Vice-president, is ex-officio Chairperson of these two Committees.
