Civic Development Committee
The Civic Development Committee shall be responsible for coordinating Yard of the Month judging and reporting results to the Publicity Chairperson.
Linda Stiegler was born and raised in rural Maryland. She and her husband lived in Saudi Arabia for three and a half years where she taught music and Arabic in the British Dutch school. Upon returning to the USA Linda and her husband decided that cold weather was not in their blood anymore so they moved to Houston. Linda started teaching in HISD in 1987 and spent 26 years at Welch Middle School as a band director. She retired in 2018 and have enjoyed every day NOT going to school. Linda currently teaches line dancing at Meadows Place Community Center and she takes Taekwondo there too. She leads an adult community band but because of the Covid-19 pandemic the band hasn’t met since March 2020. |
Horticulture Committee
Program Committee

The Program Committee arranges for presentations at the monthly meetings on topics dealing with
gardening, home improvement,and conservation.

Membership Committee
The membership Committee solicits new members and introduces prospective members to the Club. It greets members at Club functions and presents them with their membership badges. It maintains a sign-in register for members and guests at Club functions. It provides cards and/or flowers to ill members.

Publicity, Website and Yearbook Committee
The Publicity Committee shall have charge of all publicity of the Club to newspapers, announcements at other meetings, posters for events, etc. The Website Committee will maintain and update the Club's website, providing the Club with monthly reports of the activity on the website and shall be responsible for compiling the Club's Yearbook and arranging for printed versions as needed. Harriett Allen Weymon, as 2nd Vice-president, is ex-officio Chairperson of the Website and Yearbook committees. |
Scholarship Committee
Social Committee
The Social Committee shall be responsible for arranging all social activities. Kay Ewing and her husband, Larry, have been Meadows Place residents since 1977, when they moved here from Orlando, Florida, with their six children and a menagerie of animals. Kay taught preschool at Tisdale Private School in Missouri City, and retired from FBISD after serving 19 years at Sugar Mill Elementary School as teacher’s aide in Special Education. She served 2 years (2009-2011) as President of the Meadows Home and Garden Club and as a member of the Scholarship Committee through the 2018-2019 school year. Her interests are reading, crafting, gardening, and getting together with family and friends. |
